Animal Control Bylaw

Dogs & Cats:

You must license your pet dogs and cats in the Town of Hepburn and all pets must have a clearly visible collar with official numbered tags. Households may have a combined total of 4 Cats or Dogs total.


Hens:

Households are permitted up to 5 Hens which must be registered with the Town. Households must adhere to Section 9: Owning & Harbouring of Hens of the Animal Control Bylaw.


Non-Compliance Base Fine:  $100

Pet License Fees:

Cats, Spayed or Neutered:  $10

Cats, Not Spayed or Neutered:  $15

Dogs, Spayed or Neutered:  $15

Dogs, Not Spayed or Neutered:  $30

New Tag Replacement:  $5

Hens:  No Charge


Licenses are one-time fees.

Impound Fees:

If Housed By The Municipality:

$50.00 per animal plus $25.00 per day with a minimum fee of $75


If Housed By The SPCA

All municipal pound fees shall apply, $100.00 transportation fee and any fees charged by the SPCA.
