Emergency Preparedness

Being prepared helps protect your family, business, and community during emergencies. In Saskatchewan, risks may include severe weather events, power outages, industrial incidents, and major transportation accidents.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is the provincial lead for public safety and emergency management. The ministry works in coordination with local governments, emergency responders, and federal and provincial partners to plan for and respond to emergencies.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to maintain emergency kits and response plans, particularly for power outages and severe weather events.

Emergency Measures Organization (EMO)

Emergency measures are the immediate actions taken to respond to serious and urgent situations to reduce risk, protect life, and minimize damage. In Canada, Emergency Measures Organizations (EMOs) are responsible for emergency planning, response coordination, and disaster assistance.

The Town of Hepburn participates in a regional Emergency Services Agreement that provides coordinated emergency management and response for our area.
